If on the one hand the effects caused by the pandemic have led today's society to look at the digital-technological world with ever greater attention and interest by investing more and more resources in this direction. On the other hand, they have made it clear how urgent is the question of the re-appropriation of human relationships in terms of solidarity, participation and community and, at the same time, how necessary is the promotion of a planning strategy, in relation to artistic and cultural projects, capable of putting the human being as a social being at the center of the daily processes.

L'artista per la collettività was a pedagogical research project focused on the potential of the social role of the artist in XXI century inspired by the following questions:

What are the opportunities represented today by artists in terms of common benefit, involvement, vision and alternative to the dominant model?

Why are collaborations with territories, businesses, schools and institutions - today more than ever - fundamental to define new paradigms of exchange and sharing, between art, society and citizenship?

Can a social role be defined for the artist and analyzed his/her ability to generate added value and, at the same time, to catalyze resources and interests from subjects outside the sector, thus helping citizens work towards a common interest?

The project developed between 2022 and 2023 consisted of a tour of public lectures and workshops hosted by cultural institutions, museums and universities in Italy, Germany, Japan and Thailand. These included the Museum of Modern Art in Bologna, Viafarini, Tokyo University of the Arts, Hochschule für Kunst Bremen, ANCB Berlin, Shibaura House Tokyo, Silpakorn University Bangkok, Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art, Manifattura Tabacchi Florence, Villa Romana, Matdot Art Center Bangkok, CAPAS University of Parma, CUT Circuito Urbano Temporaneo, TAI Tuscan Art Industry, Accademia di Belle Arti Florence, Palazzo Strozzi.
