Zaganelli works in a hybrid manner as an artist, curator and activator of inititiatives aimed at the collectivity. He creates projects addressed to people, investigating and challenging the notions of “public” and “social” in relation to the theme of space.
Collaborating with associations, foundations, cultural centers, parks, communities and public agencies, over the last two decades he has conceived and promoted numerous projects in Europe and Asia.
Among other projects, the monumental intervention "Non A Tutti Piace L'Erba" (2008); the long-term research on vacant heritage "La mappa dell'abbandono", the solo exhibitions “Superficially” at MOCA Taipei (2018) and “Grand Tourismo” at the Gallerie degli Uffizi in Florence (2018/2019); the participation in the Setouchi Triennale in Japan (2019), Thailand Biennale (2021-2022), Forest Festival of the Arts Okayama (2024); the pedagogical research project “L’artista per la collettività” (2022-2023) and its evolution "Agire Interagire Interferire" (2024).
In the spring of 2025 he has attended the Hibiya Art Park in Tokyo with a new installation called "Hibiya Ping Pong Platz". Later in 2025 he has created three new permanent public interventions in Tokyo related to the Ping Pong Platz project, two in Sumida City and one in Hiroo, Shibuya City.
In 2026 he will begin a project with the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb (MSU Zagreb) within the "Museum of Commons" project promoted by L'Internationale, a consortium of European Museums.
